0:02hey Hollis hi Heather hello everyone and

0:06welcome to a special edition of work

0:09your best life where we’re actually

0:10going to talk about the future future of

0:13work yes so we decided to put out this

0:17video be in response to all of the

0:21webinars research and articles on the

0:25future of work and how AI is impacting

0:27work this is an important convers ation

0:30because um work is in the midst of a big

0:34massive change and what we found out is

0:36a very exciting change there’s a lot a

0:39lot of positive to what is happening

0:42right now and we want you all to be on

0:43the Forefront of the opportunities that

0:46are in front of us in particular we’re

0:49going to be sharing a link to a webinar

0:51that we found useful it was through a

0:53deco there’s also a a giant research

0:56article and we’ll share that as well

0:59yeah I know that I get a ton of

1:01questions about um you know I want a new

1:04role or a new job but I want to make

1:05sure that AI doesn’t take that job in

1:08the future I know Hollis working with

1:10students um they actually are more

1:12embracing of now what can I do with what

1:15I know about AI it just keeps coming up

1:17in a whole bunch of different categories

1:19different age groups different careers

1:22um it seems to sometimes be exciting for

1:24others and sometimes to be really a

1:26threat and sometimes people are fearful

1:29of it so we want to just tackle all of

1:31that and figure out where indeed it is

1:34is it a threat is it a resource is it

1:37both what is it so and I think the

1:40webinar really um when I listened to it

1:43the summary what I gathered from it was

1:45a few key points the AI

1:49Revolution which no one’s really calling

1:51it that I made that up but the AI

1:53Revolution is kind of like the

1:55Industrial Revolution from a factory

1:58standpoint the Industrial Revolution

2:00made all these changes now this is more

2:01from a desk job type standpoint of all

2:04the changes that can be made so it’s

2:06really about efficiency um people

2:08immediately think o efficiency means

2:11taking away jobs we’ll talk a little bit

2:13about the strategy and how it doesn’t

2:15necessarily mean that but it is a scary

2:17time just because it’s change and so

2:20they talked a lot about that they also

2:22talked about what skills AI could

2:25replace in humans so some of that was

2:29very trans actional type Elements which

2:31everyone agreed it can definitely

2:33replace that but there was some debate

2:35on the panel during the webinar about if

2:37it could replace things like strategic

2:39thinking because a computer can be

2:42strategic but in the end a lot of the

2:45panalysts agreed that actually strategy

2:48needs a lot more human element and

2:50influence when you’re creating it so it

2:52necessarily doesn’t replace that the

2:54skills that they said would be most

2:56important moving forward is really not

2:59that much different than we’ve known um

3:01leadership skills decision making skills

3:03human influence skills um really

3:06listening to what’s happening and being

3:08able to customize and put your own human

3:11influencer element into that and um and

3:14then we’ll talk a little bit about the

3:16jobs that they said it could actually

3:17create instead of the ones that it would

3:20just take away so there’s more to it we

3:22highly encourage you to listen to the

3:23whole thing but that’s really a lot of

3:25the Key summary points that I think were

3:28important that’s great and in a summary

3:30of what I heard you say is that we are

3:33AI is absolutely here we are in the

3:36messy Middle where companies are trying

3:38to figure out what this means for their

3:41business it gives us an opportunity as

3:44employees if we want to own our own

3:46career and um create our own career

3:49strategy gives us a chance to be in the

3:51driver seat here and part of that change

3:54um and um directing how we use AI in our

3:59own personal lives yeah you get to

4:01design what you want it to be in your

4:04career at this stage if we wait too much

4:06longer you’ll probably be directed how

4:09it impacts your career but I think right

4:11now we can actually jump in and design

4:14and suggest different ways that we might

4:16be able to use it in our given roles and

4:19be on the Forefront of it and actually

4:21it could be a strength for all of us

4:23exactly so the webinar Focus mostly from

4:26a company standpoint what does this make

4:28mean for work in General we want to boil

4:31it down for all of you is what does this

4:33mean for you in your career so we’ve

4:35come up with the top five things that we

4:37find most valuable I’ll list them off

4:40and then we’ll go into detail so the

4:42first main point is AI is here and it’s

4:45happening second is upskill there’s so

4:48much opportunity for you if you

4:50capitalize on it now the third is most

4:53people unanimously believe that AI is

4:56going to help well-being fourth it can

4:59Propel you into leadership and fifth

5:02there’s tons of new opportunities coming

5:04down the pipeline because of AI so let’s

5:07jump into the first one it’s here and

5:09it’s happening Heather I know and it’s

5:12everywhere if you stop like I told you H

5:15the other day I L jumped on Zoom just

5:17like we’re on now and it has an AI

5:19companion on zoom and I was like huh

5:22what is this what does it do and you can

5:24just say recap this conversation and

5:26it’ll give you a little recap of the

5:28zoom webinar you were just how amazing

5:30is that if you are running out of time

5:32was it useful when you tested out that

5:35feature was it good I would say that

5:37Zoom is um not at the very Forefront of

5:41what their AI expert is doing it gave me

5:43a quick recap I would I tested it and

5:46asked it you know did that person seem

5:47engaged and it didn’t really couldn’t

5:50really tell that obviously but it did

5:52give me a recap of some of the high

5:54points that I might have forgotten that

5:56we talked about on the call so I thought

5:58that was really helpful because you know

6:00you get off a call and you’re like oh

6:02gosh what did we say at the beginning

6:03and you can ask it about a specific

6:05topic and it will give you a summary so

6:07yes and no I think it’s got some room

6:10for improvement but I thought it was

6:12helpful yeah that’s really good insights

6:15you know I was reminded during the

6:18webinar of a quote that I had heard a

6:20long time ago which is um you can be one

6:24of three people the person who creates

6:27what’s about to happen the one who says

6:30oh this is happening or the kind of

6:32person who says oh my gosh what the heck

6:34just happened and we’re in the midst of

6:37an opportunity to like you’re doing test

6:40features and figure out how do we want

6:42this to impact our career or if you’re a

6:44leader how do we want this impact

6:46business and what governance and

6:48opportunities could this create for a

6:50business we can be wait till we’re

6:53directed what to do with AI or we can

6:56fight it and go oh gosh what just

6:58happened now I need to catch up yeah and

7:01you know I’m not one of the first of

7:04early adopters you’re more that type

7:06than I and just your influence in hey

7:08let’s check this out has really helped

7:10me explore it I wouldn’t have thought I

7:13would have been in that last category of

7:15oh gosh what the hell just happened

7:17without your influence and so I think

7:20collaborating with other people and

7:22understanding and getting some

7:23suggestions from them is helpful because

7:25because you’ve mentioned it to me and I

7:27was like oh what is that AI companion

7:29and then you and I talked about oh maybe

7:31ask it this or what about this does it

7:32do this and that’s the cool exploration

7:36that I think can really help people not

7:38only explore the new technology but what

7:41they like about it and how their career

7:43can intermingle with it I have to say

7:46the more I learn the more exciting it is

7:49especially at this stage

7:51where uh not everyone is using it and

7:54the ways that it has cut down and

7:56created efficiencies and my life and my

7:59career I’m seeing all the upside at the

8:02moment yeah me too and I wouldn’t have I

8:04would have been ignoring it and now I

8:06kind of get excited about oh what about

8:08this is he smart enough to know this

8:10like it’s yeah it’s

8:12cool so second is upskilling

8:15opportunities so talk more about that

8:17Heather yeah I think in the upscaling a

8:20lot of it can be done in just what we

8:22just talked about exploring yourself

8:24finding when you see it as an option and

8:26whatever you’re um interacting with

8:29dayto day what can I do with that and

8:32you just exploring and going oh you can

8:35also obviously take Porsches on it and

8:38and learn more about it from more

8:39official certification standpoint I know

8:41LinkedIn has some courses themselves and

8:45exploring that area but I think just

8:47trying to understand how it impacts you

8:50and your daytoday is the best way to

8:53upskill just to make yourself aware that

8:55it

8:56exists I absolutely agree

8:59one of the easiest places to start is

9:02with chat

9:03GPT um because it’s an open source you

9:06ask it any question and not just a

9:08simple question that you put into Google

9:10but a much more complex question you can

9:13even have it summarize something for you

9:16or write something on your behalf that

9:18you could use as kind of an outline

9:20never just steal and take anything

9:22directly from chat gbt but I start with

9:25what am I worried about like gosh I’m so

9:27worried about being able to do

9:29everything in my day let me look and see

9:32if it could summarize this long research

9:35article or um or presentation so that I

9:39could decide if it’s worth my time or

9:41not so you can start with what you’re

9:43worried about and turn it into a Wonder

9:45like I wonder if chat GPT could do this

9:47for me and just test it out so that’s a

9:50that’s some easy loow hanging fruit for

9:52us yeah and do it you can do it even in

9:54your personal life like um ask it about

9:57a Halloween costume idea or something

10:00silly like that that has nothing to do

10:02with work just so you can start to

10:04understand the the parameters and the

10:06boundaries and how you can ask the

10:08question differently and um and it can

10:10be fun too not just workwise one thing I

10:14did last week was I put into chat GPT

10:19what my job was where I’m struggling and

10:22asked it how it could help and it

10:24answered me it said this is what I can

10:25do for you so that’s another cool thing

10:28um one thing I will say is if you are in

10:30the midst of a job search currently

10:33absolutely find some kind of

10:34certification or way to include AI on

10:37your resume it will set you apart

10:40because very few have it yet you know I

10:42think even Microsoft has some AI

10:45training that would look very credible

10:47on a resume and um you know it’s the

10:51differentiation point at the moment yeah

10:53Microsoft was actually part of the panel

10:55um on the webinar and they talked about

10:58how they used to to be a company where

11:00they felt like the culture was we need

11:01to know it all and chat gbt or AI is

11:05actually transferred their culture

11:08thinking into we need to learn it all

11:10instead of know it all and that growth

11:12mindset and so I think that’s important

11:15that everyone is learning it because it

11:17is a constant Evolution it being AI is a

11:21constant Evolution it’s constantly

11:22changing and getting better and doing

11:24different things and so if we’re all

11:26under that mindset I think it would be

11:28really helpful to get aligned with um

11:31where technology is going in terms of

11:33you your career and instead of feeling

11:35like oh I can’t learn that but to get

11:37into that growth mindset absolutely so

11:40the

11:41third um career strategy takeaway from

11:45the webinar was it can improve your

11:47well-being which I think naturally we

11:50see new technology and think oh gosh

11:53this is more something I have to learn a

11:55new added thing so I’m not sure most of

11:59the people who are listening to this

12:00would expect that to be one of our

12:02takeaways so would you share more on

12:04that Heather of course it’s my favorite

12:06because I love the well-being topic yes

12:08well-being I thought it was really

12:10interesting when they went down this

12:11road and I was like oh yeah it really

12:13can help in that way because it can take

12:15away some of the more

12:18meaningless tasks and let you focus more

12:21on the human

12:22relation aspect or maybe that like we

12:25were talking about before the human

12:26influence as it relates to strategy

12:28aspect aspect and I know for a lot of

12:30people that’s the more fun type work

12:33they feel like they’re making an impact

12:35creating a difference having meaning in

12:37their job and so it can just help you

12:40really love your work more and focus on

12:43the work that you want to do instead of

12:45the

12:46meaningless um task the transactional

12:49type task that AI might be able to take

12:51over so I thought it was really

12:53insightful and yeah I think it really

12:55can help to help people like their work

12:58more

12:59I love that you know I cannot tell you

13:02how many times I have said the phrase if

13:04I could only have a personal assistant

13:08and what do you know that’s what AI is

13:11honestly great for it’s a

13:14co-pilot in it’s not going to replace

13:17the need for human beings it’s going to

13:20replace a lot of the repetitive

13:23administrative notetaking things of that

13:26nature so if we can embrace it then it

13:29could actually be the thing we’ve all

13:31been waiting for um and hoping we could

13:34have I mean if you go back to like they

13:37mentioned the Industrial Revolution it

13:39took away some of the monotonous do over

13:41and over tasks and then they had to yes

13:44some people lost their jobs during that

13:46because that’s what they were trained to

13:48do but it then required people that knew

13:51how the machines worked and if something

13:54goes wrong what did they do about it and

13:56so it the again the human elements so

13:59it’s the same here it’s the same concept

14:01of of that so yes it could eliminate

14:04some jobs but if you’re upscaling ahead

14:07of time you could actually be learning

14:09how to do that next job and so it would

14:12not only replace your job you might get

14:14a promotion because you know how to do

14:16it 100% And when we look back

14:20on the the most

14:23requested um changes in people’s career

14:27it’s I want to get rid of the monotony

14:30I’m tired of all this

14:32paperwork um I’m tired of how much is on

14:34my plate and being in the

14:37weeds it kind of seems like this is a

14:40cool opportunity for the workforce to

14:43move

14:44into um more opportunities for the work

14:48that we are unanimously hearing from

14:50folks yeah it be the weed whacker get

14:54those weeds out yeah oh I love that I

14:57love that um um you know I think to

15:00summarize all of

15:01that I see AI is less of a threat and

15:04more as an opportunity cool yeah me too

15:08all right so fourth on our list is

15:11propelling into leadership and this is

15:13one that when you first said it I

15:14thought really and then you convinced me

15:17so will you share away yeah so I just

15:21think leadership it kind of goes back to

15:23that point I made earlier about the

15:25Industrial Revolution and how are you

15:27going to help other

15:29Embrace this and help them grow their

15:32career once you know how what it can do

15:35for you then it’s really about that

15:38human relationship element again of okay

15:42now that we know this and this

15:43transactional element is out it’s going

15:46to allow us to grow in the future in

15:48terms of um how we have an impact on the

15:52business the organization the culture

15:54really customizing the what we know

15:57about something

15:59um our knowledge our experience more

16:02than any more than our knowledge we know

16:05that customers the research shows this

16:07but we’ve actually seen how a customer

16:09feels we’ve seen how they react to that

16:11so combining the AI knowledge with the

16:15human oh I know this is what usually

16:18happens The

16:20Experience excuse me I think that’s

16:22where the leadership comes in so yes I

16:25think that the marriage of the two is

16:26pretty amazing absolutely I find one of

16:30the most cool important and cool

16:32features of AI and I think in this

16:35instance I may be talking more

16:37specifically about chat GPT and those

16:39functions that are being weaved into a

16:41lot of the software platforms we use um

16:44one of the coolest things is its ability

16:47to summarize and give context which it’s

16:51really very generative so as we think

16:53about how long it would take us to

16:55create a corporate strategy or

16:59opportunities it is doing a lot of the

17:02research and allowing us to learn

17:03quickly and get us up to speed quickly

17:06so that we can focus on What’s Next Big

17:09Picture moving forward you know a lot of

17:12um Blueprints and strategies so if if

17:15you learn how to use it strategically it

17:17could be your you know magic magic

17:21weapon here yeah and like I said they AI

17:25hasn’t had the actual experience of what

17:29your customer or your team or your

17:31organization has done in the past and

17:34how it relates to that specific strategy

17:37so again just the oh I get how these two

17:40fit together you’re the bridge between

17:42those two and allowing that and being

17:44the leader of your team and being able

17:47to

17:48tell excuse me a group

17:52of May you’ll have to take

17:57over sorry sorry but telling a group how

17:59that can function together and Bridge

18:02together is so valuable there’s not

18:04going to be any machine or computer that

18:07can that can do that element for sure

18:10love it which weaves us right into our

18:12fifth and final point which is AI is

18:15absolutely going to create new jobs and

18:19new job descriptions let’s be real it

18:22will eliminate current jobs as we know

18:25it however there will be an equal number

18:28of new opportunities that

18:30exist will you share what you think is

18:33most exciting about that well the one

18:36that they mentioned in the webinar there

18:38was they think there’s going to be a new

18:39job called authenticity expert and I

18:42think that is the coolest title I’ve

18:43ever heard so I was super excited I was

18:45like sign me up where can I be one of

18:47those um but yeah AI experts and again

18:50like I was saying any kind of liaison

18:52between the technology and your company

18:55or your team is going to be really

18:57important those jobs are going to come

18:59to the Forefront as we move forward and

19:01heck there’s so many others that don’t

19:04even have titles yet and I always tell

19:06students when I’m talking to them that

19:09how could you prepare probably the job

19:11you’re going to go get in four five six

19:13years doesn’t even exist yet so we don’t

19:15even know what they’re going to be

19:16called but I know that learning how to

19:19prompt AI um looking at cheat sheets on

19:22the different types of AI generative

19:24versus the other types are really

19:26helpful just to understand what your

19:29passion where your interest in your

19:30passion and even your past experience or

19:33talents where that can combine with any

19:36of the lingo or the cheat sheets on one

19:37of those is just you might create your

19:40own title you might be in an

19:42organization and go oh my gosh we need a

19:44liaison between this and that now that

19:47AI has taken over so what about this

19:49title how cool is that you get to create

19:51a new new

19:53job yes absolutely so I did a quick

19:56search before for this call on what jobs

20:00will El will AI potentially eliminate so

20:02that we can see the thread here and most

20:05importantly what jobs might it create so

20:07I’d love to give a little context to

20:09this um some of the jobs that it might

20:12eliminate are much more administrative

20:14things that um or or research based

20:17things that an AI bot could do on their

20:20own it um has the ability to learn very

20:24quickly and make decisions based on new

20:27data coming in so things like analysts

20:30um technical

20:32writing or coding so things that are are

20:36simply we need Manpower they’re learning

20:39how to allow AI to do those roles and

20:42what it will bring about is a ton of new

20:45opportunities in a space we hear a lot

20:47of people um really want compliance

20:49management

20:51integration um training with for

20:54teams um ethics as it relates to AI

20:59experiened designers so it’s really cool

21:03the opportunities that it’s going to

21:05create and um I think if we start to

21:09think about oh if I wanted that job what

21:11could I do now to get myself ready that

21:14we’d have a whole host of clients in

21:16jobs they love Yeah like even a coder

21:19like what what part of coding is going

21:21to be required that is actually where a

21:25job is is going to be created um it

21:28might not be a coder or even called a

21:30coder but why do you like coding and the

21:32why behind that might be one of these

21:34other roles that you mentioned that you

21:36might get really excited about so

21:38starting to investigate that now is

21:40important yeah for security Engineers

21:44which is still that same kind of Lane

21:46but now we’re talking about security and

21:48how do we write code for AI it’s just a

21:51different um aspect different

21:54applications yeah yeah and I’m curious

21:58did you ask chat gbt this or just

22:01Google I asked Google this I wanted the

22:04lists that are available out on the

22:06internet but I would love to go ahead

22:10and put into chat GPT this is my job

22:13here’s what I do you know in the future

22:16when you AI take over my current job

22:19what will be available for me in the

22:21future and I would imagine it would give

22:24me some answers yeah I think we we

22:26should that’s every every body’s

22:28homework go check that out put their job

22:30in and see what it says it’ll be

22:33interesting absolutely and I would love

22:35to hear from all of you of what are you

22:38most excited about when you think about

22:39AI what are you most worried about and

22:42most importantly what would you like to

22:44hear from us we want to help you get on

22:48the Forefront of this new technology and

22:50all the opportunities it could create

22:52for you so what kind of content or

22:55research can we bring you in this space

22:58yeah for sure we want to hear from

23:00everyone in terms of was this helpful

23:03and do you want to hear more of it and

23:05also what’s specific pieces because I

23:07know I want you to be excited about it

23:09instead of frightened about it and so

23:12that’s hopefully we’ve done a little of

23:14that today yes and to remind everyone

23:17the opposite of worry is Wonder so

23:19instead of worrying about it taking your

23:21job wonder what it can do for you and I

23:24suspect that will change a lot of our um

23:27approaches to to adopting or learning I

23:30love so good about asking that I what I

23:33wonder instead of worry it’s a an

23:36excellent reframe yep well thank you

23:39heather for talking through this with me

23:43and everyone who has made it to the end

23:45of this video yeah it’s been amazing

23:48you’ll check out the link that we’re

23:49going to provide on the Adco video um or

23:53any others that you see pass along any

23:55other resources for us that we can

23:57continue to learn in this space too and

24:00happy Friday talk to you later

24:03bye

0:02hey Hollis hi Heather hello everyone and

0:06welcome to a special edition of work

0:09your best life where we’re actually

0:10going to talk about the future future of

0:13work yes so we decided to put out this

0:17video be in response to all of the

0:21webinars research and articles on the

0:25future of work and how AI is impacting

0:27work this is an important convers ation

0:30because um work is in the midst of a big

0:34massive change and what we found out is

0:36a very exciting change there’s a lot a

0:39lot of positive to what is happening

0:42right now and we want you all to be on

0:43the Forefront of the opportunities that

0:46are in front of us in particular we’re

0:49going to be sharing a link to a webinar

0:51that we found useful it was through a

0:53deco there’s also a a giant research

0:56article and we’ll share that as well

0:59yeah I know that I get a ton of

1:01questions about um you know I want a new

1:04role or a new job but I want to make

1:05sure that AI doesn’t take that job in

1:08the future I know Hollis working with

1:10students um they actually are more

1:12embracing of now what can I do with what

1:15I know about AI it just keeps coming up

1:17in a whole bunch of different categories

1:19different age groups different careers

1:22um it seems to sometimes be exciting for

1:24others and sometimes to be really a

1:26threat and sometimes people are fearful

1:29of it so we want to just tackle all of

1:31that and figure out where indeed it is

1:34is it a threat is it a resource is it

1:37both what is it so and I think the

1:40webinar really um when I listened to it

1:43the summary what I gathered from it was

1:45a few key points the AI

1:49Revolution which no one’s really calling

1:51it that I made that up but the AI

1:53Revolution is kind of like the

1:55Industrial Revolution from a factory

1:58standpoint the Industrial Revolution

2:00made all these changes now this is more

2:01from a desk job type standpoint of all

2:04the changes that can be made so it’s

2:06really about efficiency um people

2:08immediately think o efficiency means

2:11taking away jobs we’ll talk a little bit

2:13about the strategy and how it doesn’t

2:15necessarily mean that but it is a scary

2:17time just because it’s change and so

2:20they talked a lot about that they also

2:22talked about what skills AI could

2:25replace in humans so some of that was

2:29very trans actional type Elements which

2:31everyone agreed it can definitely

2:33replace that but there was some debate

2:35on the panel during the webinar about if

2:37it could replace things like strategic

2:39thinking because a computer can be

2:42strategic but in the end a lot of the

2:45panalysts agreed that actually strategy

2:48needs a lot more human element and

2:50influence when you’re creating it so it

2:52necessarily doesn’t replace that the

2:54skills that they said would be most

2:56important moving forward is really not

2:59that much different than we’ve known um

3:01leadership skills decision making skills

3:03human influence skills um really

3:06listening to what’s happening and being

3:08able to customize and put your own human

3:11influencer element into that and um and

3:14then we’ll talk a little bit about the

3:16jobs that they said it could actually

3:17create instead of the ones that it would

3:20just take away so there’s more to it we

3:22highly encourage you to listen to the

3:23whole thing but that’s really a lot of

3:25the Key summary points that I think were

3:28important that’s great and in a summary

3:30of what I heard you say is that we are

3:33AI is absolutely here we are in the

3:36messy Middle where companies are trying

3:38to figure out what this means for their

3:41business it gives us an opportunity as

3:44employees if we want to own our own

3:46career and um create our own career

3:49strategy gives us a chance to be in the

3:51driver seat here and part of that change

3:54um and um directing how we use AI in our

3:59own personal lives yeah you get to

4:01design what you want it to be in your

4:04career at this stage if we wait too much

4:06longer you’ll probably be directed how

4:09it impacts your career but I think right

4:11now we can actually jump in and design

4:14and suggest different ways that we might

4:16be able to use it in our given roles and

4:19be on the Forefront of it and actually

4:21it could be a strength for all of us

4:23exactly so the webinar Focus mostly from

4:26a company standpoint what does this make

4:28mean for work in General we want to boil

4:31it down for all of you is what does this

4:33mean for you in your career so we’ve

4:35come up with the top five things that we

4:37find most valuable I’ll list them off

4:40and then we’ll go into detail so the

4:42first main point is AI is here and it’s

4:45happening second is upskill there’s so

4:48much opportunity for you if you

4:50capitalize on it now the third is most

4:53people unanimously believe that AI is

4:56going to help well-being fourth it can

4:59Propel you into leadership and fifth

5:02there’s tons of new opportunities coming

5:04down the pipeline because of AI so let’s

5:07jump into the first one it’s here and

5:09it’s happening Heather I know and it’s

5:12everywhere if you stop like I told you H

5:15the other day I L jumped on Zoom just

5:17like we’re on now and it has an AI

5:19companion on zoom and I was like huh

5:22what is this what does it do and you can

5:24just say recap this conversation and

5:26it’ll give you a little recap of the

5:28zoom webinar you were just how amazing

5:30is that if you are running out of time

5:32was it useful when you tested out that

5:35feature was it good I would say that

5:37Zoom is um not at the very Forefront of

5:41what their AI expert is doing it gave me

5:43a quick recap I would I tested it and

5:46asked it you know did that person seem

5:47engaged and it didn’t really couldn’t

5:50really tell that obviously but it did

5:52give me a recap of some of the high

5:54points that I might have forgotten that

5:56we talked about on the call so I thought

5:58that was really helpful because you know

6:00you get off a call and you’re like oh

6:02gosh what did we say at the beginning

6:03and you can ask it about a specific

6:05topic and it will give you a summary so

6:07yes and no I think it’s got some room

6:10for improvement but I thought it was

6:12helpful yeah that’s really good insights

6:15you know I was reminded during the

6:18webinar of a quote that I had heard a

6:20long time ago which is um you can be one

6:24of three people the person who creates

6:27what’s about to happen the one who says

6:30oh this is happening or the kind of

6:32person who says oh my gosh what the heck

6:34just happened and we’re in the midst of

6:37an opportunity to like you’re doing test

6:40features and figure out how do we want

6:42this to impact our career or if you’re a

6:44leader how do we want this impact

6:46business and what governance and

6:48opportunities could this create for a

6:50business we can be wait till we’re

6:53directed what to do with AI or we can

6:56fight it and go oh gosh what just

6:58happened now I need to catch up yeah and

7:01you know I’m not one of the first of

7:04early adopters you’re more that type

7:06than I and just your influence in hey

7:08let’s check this out has really helped

7:10me explore it I wouldn’t have thought I

7:13would have been in that last category of

7:15oh gosh what the hell just happened

7:17without your influence and so I think

7:20collaborating with other people and

7:22understanding and getting some

7:23suggestions from them is helpful because

7:25because you’ve mentioned it to me and I

7:27was like oh what is that AI companion

7:29and then you and I talked about oh maybe

7:31ask it this or what about this does it

7:32do this and that’s the cool exploration

7:36that I think can really help people not

7:38only explore the new technology but what

7:41they like about it and how their career

7:43can intermingle with it I have to say

7:46the more I learn the more exciting it is

7:49especially at this stage

7:51where uh not everyone is using it and

7:54the ways that it has cut down and

7:56created efficiencies and my life and my

7:59career I’m seeing all the upside at the

8:02moment yeah me too and I wouldn’t have I

8:04would have been ignoring it and now I

8:06kind of get excited about oh what about

8:08this is he smart enough to know this

8:10like it’s yeah it’s

8:12cool so second is upskilling

8:15opportunities so talk more about that

8:17Heather yeah I think in the upscaling a

8:20lot of it can be done in just what we

8:22just talked about exploring yourself

8:24finding when you see it as an option and

8:26whatever you’re um interacting with

8:29dayto day what can I do with that and

8:32you just exploring and going oh you can

8:35also obviously take Porsches on it and

8:38and learn more about it from more

8:39official certification standpoint I know

8:41LinkedIn has some courses themselves and

8:45exploring that area but I think just

8:47trying to understand how it impacts you

8:50and your daytoday is the best way to

8:53upskill just to make yourself aware that

8:55it

8:56exists I absolutely agree

8:59one of the easiest places to start is

9:02with chat

9:03GPT um because it’s an open source you

9:06ask it any question and not just a

9:08simple question that you put into Google

9:10but a much more complex question you can

9:13even have it summarize something for you

9:16or write something on your behalf that

9:18you could use as kind of an outline

9:20never just steal and take anything

9:22directly from chat gbt but I start with

9:25what am I worried about like gosh I’m so

9:27worried about being able to do

9:29everything in my day let me look and see

9:32if it could summarize this long research

9:35article or um or presentation so that I

9:39could decide if it’s worth my time or

9:41not so you can start with what you’re

9:43worried about and turn it into a Wonder

9:45like I wonder if chat GPT could do this

9:47for me and just test it out so that’s a

9:50that’s some easy loow hanging fruit for

9:52us yeah and do it you can do it even in

9:54your personal life like um ask it about

9:57a Halloween costume idea or something

10:00silly like that that has nothing to do

10:02with work just so you can start to

10:04understand the the parameters and the

10:06boundaries and how you can ask the

10:08question differently and um and it can

10:10be fun too not just workwise one thing I

10:14did last week was I put into chat GPT

10:19what my job was where I’m struggling and

10:22asked it how it could help and it

10:24answered me it said this is what I can

10:25do for you so that’s another cool thing

10:28um one thing I will say is if you are in

10:30the midst of a job search currently

10:33absolutely find some kind of

10:34certification or way to include AI on

10:37your resume it will set you apart

10:40because very few have it yet you know I

10:42think even Microsoft has some AI

10:45training that would look very credible

10:47on a resume and um you know it’s the

10:51differentiation point at the moment yeah

10:53Microsoft was actually part of the panel

10:55um on the webinar and they talked about

10:58how they used to to be a company where

11:00they felt like the culture was we need

11:01to know it all and chat gbt or AI is

11:05actually transferred their culture

11:08thinking into we need to learn it all

11:10instead of know it all and that growth

11:12mindset and so I think that’s important

11:15that everyone is learning it because it

11:17is a constant Evolution it being AI is a

11:21constant Evolution it’s constantly

11:22changing and getting better and doing

11:24different things and so if we’re all

11:26under that mindset I think it would be

11:28really helpful to get aligned with um

11:31where technology is going in terms of

11:33you your career and instead of feeling

11:35like oh I can’t learn that but to get

11:37into that growth mindset absolutely so

11:40the

11:41third um career strategy takeaway from

11:45the webinar was it can improve your

11:47well-being which I think naturally we

11:50see new technology and think oh gosh

11:53this is more something I have to learn a

11:55new added thing so I’m not sure most of

11:59the people who are listening to this

12:00would expect that to be one of our

12:02takeaways so would you share more on

12:04that Heather of course it’s my favorite

12:06because I love the well-being topic yes

12:08well-being I thought it was really

12:10interesting when they went down this

12:11road and I was like oh yeah it really

12:13can help in that way because it can take

12:15away some of the more

12:18meaningless tasks and let you focus more

12:21on the human

12:22relation aspect or maybe that like we

12:25were talking about before the human

12:26influence as it relates to strategy

12:28aspect aspect and I know for a lot of

12:30people that’s the more fun type work

12:33they feel like they’re making an impact

12:35creating a difference having meaning in

12:37their job and so it can just help you

12:40really love your work more and focus on

12:43the work that you want to do instead of

12:45the

12:46meaningless um task the transactional

12:49type task that AI might be able to take

12:51over so I thought it was really

12:53insightful and yeah I think it really

12:55can help to help people like their work

12:58more

12:59I love that you know I cannot tell you

13:02how many times I have said the phrase if

13:04I could only have a personal assistant

13:08and what do you know that’s what AI is

13:11honestly great for it’s a

13:14co-pilot in it’s not going to replace

13:17the need for human beings it’s going to

13:20replace a lot of the repetitive

13:23administrative notetaking things of that

13:26nature so if we can embrace it then it

13:29could actually be the thing we’ve all

13:31been waiting for um and hoping we could

13:34have I mean if you go back to like they

13:37mentioned the Industrial Revolution it

13:39took away some of the monotonous do over

13:41and over tasks and then they had to yes

13:44some people lost their jobs during that

13:46because that’s what they were trained to

13:48do but it then required people that knew

13:51how the machines worked and if something

13:54goes wrong what did they do about it and

13:56so it the again the human elements so

13:59it’s the same here it’s the same concept

14:01of of that so yes it could eliminate

14:04some jobs but if you’re upscaling ahead

14:07of time you could actually be learning

14:09how to do that next job and so it would

14:12not only replace your job you might get

14:14a promotion because you know how to do

14:16it 100% And when we look back

14:20on the the most

14:23requested um changes in people’s career

14:27it’s I want to get rid of the monotony

14:30I’m tired of all this

14:32paperwork um I’m tired of how much is on

14:34my plate and being in the

14:37weeds it kind of seems like this is a

14:40cool opportunity for the workforce to

14:43move

14:44into um more opportunities for the work

14:48that we are unanimously hearing from

14:50folks yeah it be the weed whacker get

14:54those weeds out yeah oh I love that I

14:57love that um um you know I think to

15:00summarize all of

15:01that I see AI is less of a threat and

15:04more as an opportunity cool yeah me too

15:08all right so fourth on our list is

15:11propelling into leadership and this is

15:13one that when you first said it I

15:14thought really and then you convinced me

15:17so will you share away yeah so I just

15:21think leadership it kind of goes back to

15:23that point I made earlier about the

15:25Industrial Revolution and how are you

15:27going to help other

15:29Embrace this and help them grow their

15:32career once you know how what it can do

15:35for you then it’s really about that

15:38human relationship element again of okay

15:42now that we know this and this

15:43transactional element is out it’s going

15:46to allow us to grow in the future in

15:48terms of um how we have an impact on the

15:52business the organization the culture

15:54really customizing the what we know

15:57about something

15:59um our knowledge our experience more

16:02than any more than our knowledge we know

16:05that customers the research shows this

16:07but we’ve actually seen how a customer

16:09feels we’ve seen how they react to that

16:11so combining the AI knowledge with the

16:15human oh I know this is what usually

16:18happens The

16:20Experience excuse me I think that’s

16:22where the leadership comes in so yes I

16:25think that the marriage of the two is

16:26pretty amazing absolutely I find one of

16:30the most cool important and cool

16:32features of AI and I think in this

16:35instance I may be talking more

16:37specifically about chat GPT and those

16:39functions that are being weaved into a

16:41lot of the software platforms we use um

16:44one of the coolest things is its ability

16:47to summarize and give context which it’s

16:51really very generative so as we think

16:53about how long it would take us to

16:55create a corporate strategy or

16:59opportunities it is doing a lot of the

17:02research and allowing us to learn

17:03quickly and get us up to speed quickly

17:06so that we can focus on What’s Next Big

17:09Picture moving forward you know a lot of

17:12um Blueprints and strategies so if if

17:15you learn how to use it strategically it

17:17could be your you know magic magic

17:21weapon here yeah and like I said they AI

17:25hasn’t had the actual experience of what

17:29your customer or your team or your

17:31organization has done in the past and

17:34how it relates to that specific strategy

17:37so again just the oh I get how these two

17:40fit together you’re the bridge between

17:42those two and allowing that and being

17:44the leader of your team and being able

17:47to

17:48tell excuse me a group

17:52of May you’ll have to take

17:57over sorry sorry but telling a group how

17:59that can function together and Bridge

18:02together is so valuable there’s not

18:04going to be any machine or computer that

18:07can that can do that element for sure

18:10love it which weaves us right into our

18:12fifth and final point which is AI is

18:15absolutely going to create new jobs and

18:19new job descriptions let’s be real it

18:22will eliminate current jobs as we know

18:25it however there will be an equal number

18:28of new opportunities that

18:30exist will you share what you think is

18:33most exciting about that well the one

18:36that they mentioned in the webinar there

18:38was they think there’s going to be a new

18:39job called authenticity expert and I

18:42think that is the coolest title I’ve

18:43ever heard so I was super excited I was

18:45like sign me up where can I be one of

18:47those um but yeah AI experts and again

18:50like I was saying any kind of liaison

18:52between the technology and your company

18:55or your team is going to be really

18:57important those jobs are going to come

18:59to the Forefront as we move forward and

19:01heck there’s so many others that don’t

19:04even have titles yet and I always tell

19:06students when I’m talking to them that

19:09how could you prepare probably the job

19:11you’re going to go get in four five six

19:13years doesn’t even exist yet so we don’t

19:15even know what they’re going to be

19:16called but I know that learning how to

19:19prompt AI um looking at cheat sheets on

19:22the different types of AI generative

19:24versus the other types are really

19:26helpful just to understand what your

19:29passion where your interest in your

19:30passion and even your past experience or

19:33talents where that can combine with any

19:36of the lingo or the cheat sheets on one

19:37of those is just you might create your

19:40own title you might be in an

19:42organization and go oh my gosh we need a

19:44liaison between this and that now that

19:47AI has taken over so what about this

19:49title how cool is that you get to create

19:51a new new

19:53job yes absolutely so I did a quick

19:56search before for this call on what jobs

20:00will El will AI potentially eliminate so

20:02that we can see the thread here and most

20:05importantly what jobs might it create so

20:07I’d love to give a little context to

20:09this um some of the jobs that it might

20:12eliminate are much more administrative

20:14things that um or or research based

20:17things that an AI bot could do on their

20:20own it um has the ability to learn very

20:24quickly and make decisions based on new

20:27data coming in so things like analysts

20:30um technical

20:32writing or coding so things that are are

20:36simply we need Manpower they’re learning

20:39how to allow AI to do those roles and

20:42what it will bring about is a ton of new

20:45opportunities in a space we hear a lot

20:47of people um really want compliance

20:49management

20:51integration um training with for

20:54teams um ethics as it relates to AI

20:59experiened designers so it’s really cool

21:03the opportunities that it’s going to

21:05create and um I think if we start to

21:09think about oh if I wanted that job what

21:11could I do now to get myself ready that

21:14we’d have a whole host of clients in

21:16jobs they love Yeah like even a coder

21:19like what what part of coding is going

21:21to be required that is actually where a

21:25job is is going to be created um it

21:28might not be a coder or even called a

21:30coder but why do you like coding and the

21:32why behind that might be one of these

21:34other roles that you mentioned that you

21:36might get really excited about so

21:38starting to investigate that now is

21:40important yeah for security Engineers

21:44which is still that same kind of Lane

21:46but now we’re talking about security and

21:48how do we write code for AI it’s just a

21:51different um aspect different

21:54applications yeah yeah and I’m curious

21:58did you ask chat gbt this or just

22:01Google I asked Google this I wanted the

22:04lists that are available out on the

22:06internet but I would love to go ahead

22:10and put into chat GPT this is my job

22:13here’s what I do you know in the future

22:16when you AI take over my current job

22:19what will be available for me in the

22:21future and I would imagine it would give

22:24me some answers yeah I think we we

22:26should that’s every every body’s

22:28homework go check that out put their job

22:30in and see what it says it’ll be

22:33interesting absolutely and I would love

22:35to hear from all of you of what are you

22:38most excited about when you think about

22:39AI what are you most worried about and

22:42most importantly what would you like to

22:44hear from us we want to help you get on

22:48the Forefront of this new technology and

22:50all the opportunities it could create

22:52for you so what kind of content or

22:55research can we bring you in this space

22:58yeah for sure we want to hear from

23:00everyone in terms of was this helpful

23:03and do you want to hear more of it and

23:05also what’s specific pieces because I

23:07know I want you to be excited about it

23:09instead of frightened about it and so

23:12that’s hopefully we’ve done a little of

23:14that today yes and to remind everyone

23:17the opposite of worry is Wonder so

23:19instead of worrying about it taking your

23:21job wonder what it can do for you and I

23:24suspect that will change a lot of our um

23:27approaches to to adopting or learning I

23:30love so good about asking that I what I

23:33wonder instead of worry it’s a an

23:36excellent reframe yep well thank you

23:39heather for talking through this with me

23:43and everyone who has made it to the end

23:45of this video yeah it’s been amazing

23:48you’ll check out the link that we’re

23:49going to provide on the Adco video um or

23:53any others that you see pass along any

23:55other resources for us that we can

23:57continue to learn in this space too
